The Return of The Cat & Fiddle
Underground is thrilled to announce The Cat & Fiddle is back! The legendary and wonderful LA institution has played a major role in not only food and drinks, but music as well. Hosting the likes of Oasis, Blur, Belle & Sebastian, Ride, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Strokes, Eurythmics, New Order and countless others, including Morrissey, who put in more shifts there than the staff, the Cat is back and open for business. To celebrate, Underground DJ Larry G. is honored to be spinning a set Thursday, June 8th. Underground congratulates the Gardners and all the C & F staff for their return. Join Underground and celebrate at the Cat with great food, drinks and music kicking off Thursday at 8PM.
The Cat & Fiddle first opened in Laurel Canyon in 1982 by the ever-entertaining Londoner, Kim Gardner, and his wife, Paula, from New Orleans. Kim was a bassist and integral part of the British Rock invasion of the 1960s and 70s. He recorded over 27 albums and played in bands such as Quiet Melon (with Rod Stewart), Ashton, Gardner & Dyke, The Creation and The Birds (with Ron Wood).
The Cat & Fiddle is very much family run. Sadly, in 2001, Kim passed away but Paula and their three daughters, Eva, Ashlee and Camille, have carried on the torch. They continue to work alongside their mum, keeping the Cat & Fiddle legacy alive.
